Event Information

Title: Greenhouse Light and Carbon Dioxide Management to Enhance Crop Yield

Description:

Greenhouse vegetables and herbs are sold according to biomass (fresh weight). It is important to maintain optimum light for high crop yield. Carbon dioxide enrichment enhances photosynthesis and can also increase crop yield, but the amount to add depends on a crop's light and temperature status. This session will provide results from the Greenhouse Light and Systems Engineering (GLASE) consortium on the interaction of light and carbon dioxide on lettuce, tomatoes, and strawberries. Strategies for adding and controlling greenhouse carbon dioxide will be discussed.
